Dr. Bloom is a graduate of Palmer College of Chiropractic in Port Orange, Florida. She has been dedicated to the field of healthcare for more than 25 years. She began her career in 1989 as a fitness instructor at the Sarasota Family YMCA. She has worked with orthopedic surgeons, physical therapists, and chiropractors to not only quickly diagnose and treat injuries, but also to prevent injuries.
She earned both a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Sports Medicine and Exercise and Sports Science from the University of Florida. She was a Certified Athletic Trainer providing injury coverage and rehabilitation for Gator athletes from all sports. She received recognition from her peers and was voted student athletic trainer of the year her senior year. In graduate school her thesis abstract on the Effects of Neoprene Knee Sleeves on Postural Stability was presented at the National Athletic Training Association National Conference.
For more than a decade she worked professionally as an athletic trainer and in the mid 90's built a sports medicine program with Sarasota hospitals, orthopedic surgeons, and physical therapy clinics to cover the injury needs of several local high schools.
Dr. Bloom was the orthopedic assistant for a fellowship trained knee and shoulder surgeon in his practice. She gained invaluable experience in the diagnosis and management of debilitating knee and shoulder injuries such as the dreaded rotator cuff tear or meniscus tears.
Her career in chiropractic was ignited by simple nagging low back pain. Orthopedics is a very physically demanding career and back pain became part of the job. She consulted with back specialists in physical therapy to learn the most effective rehabilitation techniques to control the pain. Team spine surgeons poured over her spinal x-rays finding nothing significant to treat. She found the answer in chiropractic. A chiropractor quickly identified exactly what her problem was: multiple subluxations. And within a few weeks of chiropractic treatment her back pain was gone. Shortly thereafter she decided she needed to become skilled in the amazing science of manipulative therapy and to gain a greater understanding of spinal injuries and their relationship to the nervous system.
Since graduating from Palmer she has gained experience in both wellness and family practices and Auto Accident clinics. She launched her chiropractic career in the former Sigafoose Family Practice in Venice, Florida, an established practice of more than 30 years carrying an elite name in the world of chiropractic. She has been the associate physician in Accident and Injury clinics such as Grasso Chiropractic, the preferred injury clinic of Walt Disney World in Kissimmee, Florida
